Having to polish various aspects of the game for the teaser trailer was actually really useful. Trying to add small Niagara effect deer was particularly instructive – realised this looks like a great way to add life to the game without performance impact.

Also meant I put together some of the pieces that I had worked on separately. Rudimentary town/station/train demand is now working – all a bit manual, but a train can now take cargo from A to B and drop it off, and the results are visible on the rough and ready detail panels.

Going to spend some time polishing this up, and get that economy piece working.
What’s next?
Looking at some of the town dynamics – given the town to town cargo transfer is (kind of) working – I’m going to see if I can tie up the interesting Procedurally generated town work I did with some economy growth mechanics, and get some of the dynamic town principles working in action.
